The Disastrous Dinner

Last Saturday was a good day turned into a bad day. My sisters and I had to prepare a dinner for our horrible new father and his theatre troupe at Count Olaf’s house because we were forced to.

First my two sisters and I needed a recipe “Knock, knock, knock.” We answered the door. It was Justice Strauss. We went over to her house and she helped us find a recipe for dinner. We wrote it down on a piece of paper. It was for Puttenesca sauce. Count Olaf didn’t leave us much money but luckily it was just enough. Justice Strauss helped us do the shopping and then we went back home.

Next we came home and started to cook the sauce. My sister Violet was helping me cook while Sunny was being annoying and banging on a pot and singing. Suddenly the door flung open and Count Olaf and the theater troupe were there.

After we cooked dinner, Count Olaf got very mad because we hadn’t made beef (but he never told us to). The theatre troupe were banging their fists very hard and rudely on the table because they wanted dinner. Then we nervously and quietly served some Puttensca sauce. But we were too sad to eat it because no-one appreciated our cooking.

After dinner the evening turned even worse. Count Olaf got angry because I complained about only having one bed between the three of us. I got hit in the face. His hand felt as hard as a brick on my face. I wanted to scream for my parents.

I sadly cleared the table with my sisters. We cried quietly in bed for the rest of the night. It was a dreadful evening.
